Position Description:

Crafts, builds, tests, and delivers the features that make up digital experiences. Builds hybrid mobile applications using Cordova and Ionic. Develops Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) according to Agile methodologies. Automates testing of software application components using Angular and other front-end development technologies. Develops cloud-deployable applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure cloud technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produces scalable, maintainable software solutions.
  • Communicates technical needs and capabilities to non-technical team members, product owners, and partners.
  • Engages with peers in technical and design discussions.
  • Provides guidance on standard methodologies and supports other developers.
  • Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Develops and oversees software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal, Mobile Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and implementing hybrid mobile solutions to build applications used on multiple platforms (iOS, Android, and Amazon) using Cordova, Ionic, and Capacitor within an Agile and DevOps environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal, Mobile Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and implementing hybrid mobile solutions to build applications used on multiple platforms (iOS, Android, and Amazon) using Cordova, Ionic, and Capacitor within an Agile and DevOps environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing hybrid mobile application development and unit testing (in a Monorepo structure) within a financial services environment, using programming languages (Typescript, Java, Kotlin, Objective-C, and Swift), and frameworks (Angular, Ionic, NX, JEST, and Require).
  • DE integrating native code for iOS (Objective-C and Swift) and Android (Java and Kotlin) when needed for platform-specific features or performance optimizations; and creating reusable, maintainable, and testable code components that can be shared across platforms without duplication using Capacitor.
  • DE working with state management solutions (NgRx – actions, effects, reducers, selectors, and providers) across platforms to ensure efficient data flow and to maintain application consistency; and structuring the application with modular, scalable architecture patterns (Model-View-Controller (MVC) and Model-View-View Model (MVVM)) that can easily be maintained and extended.
  • DE building Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for mobile applications using GitHub Actions, and Jenkins; performing automated testing, building, and deployment for both iOS and Android using CI/CD pipelines; and automating application release processes to both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, using Fastlane, Firebase App Distribution, or TestFlight (for beta testing).
