Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician for the South Atlanta GA Regional Market with the potential for contract-to-hire. This role involves providing on-site equipment service for Bayer Radiology equipment, including preventive maintenance, emergency service, and installation support. The position aims to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction while achieving business objectives. Sales skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations at customer sites using approved procedures and documentation.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and repair technically complex equipment using resources and self-knowledge.
  • Organize daily work schedule and coordinate with teammates to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain mobile inventory, organize, and reorder as needed to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Generate service revenue through promotion of Service Programs and Billable services.
  • Work with Territory Service Inside Sales teammates to prepare and develop service quotes.
  • Communicate with end-user customers, purchasing agents, and asset managers to finalize sales.
  • Generate sales leads and communicate with respective sales reps for new product or product upgrade opportunities.
  • Complete work orders accurately to ensure customer billing aligns with company policies.
  • Maintain company work vehicle and assigned calibration tools, special equipment, and stock inventory.
  • Ensure all proprietary information is safeguarded from non-Bayer personnel.

Essential Skills

  • Competency in performing operational verification procedures, preventive maintenance, and repair service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite and company-specific software.
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory up to 70%, including overnight and extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to lift and/or push over 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associates degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, biomedical equipment technology, IT networking, computer science, or relevant discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent military training or high school diploma/GED with certifications and applicable experience accepted.
  • Prior work experience in a hospital setting or customer service preferred.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote role, but candidates must reside in the local South Atlanta market, Macon, GA, or Columbus, GA area. The position offers high potential for conversion to hire after 6-9 months. Candidates should demonstrate good job stability.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McDonough, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
