Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s Degree in related field. One year of relevant specialist experience or experience in a related field. Experience in Higher Education and specialized work is desirable. Direct student affairs experience preferred. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Performs semi-complex administrative and supervisory program work for the division of Student Affairs.
Primary Responsibilities
Serves as an onsite representative for the Division of Student Affairs, and the Services for Students with Disability Department (SSD) at the SHSU Conroe Campus location which includes the SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and SHSU Allied Health Medical Professions. Schedules and administers accommodated exams and quizzes for all students registered through the SSD Office. Serves as the lead exam proctor and is responsible for scheduling additional proctoring resources as needed through Student Affairs, COM Medical Student Affairs, and SSD staff resources for this location. Holds primary responsibility for all records maintenance, reports on services, and communications between the students, faculty and staff. Creates opportunities for exchange of ideas between the Division of Student Affairs, COM, and Allied Health Professions programs. Makes recommendations for opportunities to foster collaboration and support between the areas. Helps facilitate student participation in various programs and collaborative efforts. Represents the Division of Student Affairs at various campus location meetings as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
