Technical Sales Engineer Service and Aftermarket

The Technical Sales Engineer (Service and Aftermarket) shall use his technical knowledge and feel excitement on developing and managing the Installed base by performance evaluations for customised engineered products packages, sell and promote spare parts, preventive maintenance programs, controller upgrades and service contracts, and growing the international client base with focus on the EMEA-region.
The Technical Sales Engineer shall be responsible for providing quotations for the required parts, system upgrades and/or service programs (SLA) promptly to the client and following up proactively to secure the business for the company based on the Customer for Life strategy. Shall provide high quality communication, technical support, training and warranty claim processing for the related products. This shall include providing technical support to customers regarding the use, operation and maintenance of equipment, as well as trouble shooting site issues by available communication tools (phone & or email), with the support other technical or engineering specialists when necessary.
We’re looking for a driven, focused, and motivating Technical Sales Engineer (Service and Aftermarket) who can translate technical cases within Air treatment into customized solutions and work in a team of motivated (senior) Service Field Engineers, in the Compressed Air/Air treatment business.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for proactive installed base and performance management in EMEA.
- Installed dehydration and filtration systems and special gas applications.
- Provide AFT with status of installed base/performance data feedback. Manage RSMs.
- Effectively deal with enquiries from an international client base, including end users, engineering companies, and the distribution network, regarding aftermarket and servicing requirements for engineered dehydration and filtration equipment.
- Translate customer questions, information and enquiries to the service team and vice versa.
- Provides quotations for spare parts, including price, lead time and payment terms, in an efficient and responsive manner.
- Liaise with other internal departments, such as:
- Service Field Engineers to analyse reports and IB status.
- Purchasing for material forecasting, MELT information and material alternatives.
- Liaises with Engineering to prepare upgrades and obtain the latest technology information.
- Production and S&A for preferred components.
- Foreign IR locations when adding value.
- The EMEA Manager of Technical Sales Support (EPG & IPG) provides updates on service/sales forecasts when projects shift that could impact revenue.
- Update the quote list and follow up on quotations proactively to secure business for the company.
- Prepare spare parts lists for new capital equipment and pursue and track the capture of this aftermarket business.
- Provide applicable market and competitive feedback to the AFT Manager and RSM, respectively.
- Maintain continuous communication with the Inside Sales Group to keep abreast of customers' upcoming open rentals and sales activity.
- Advise management, other sales personnel, customers and potential customers of any issues that may affect the delivery or performance of the IB.
- You must have a fundamental technical aptitude to help understand, articulate and address problems, assess risks and develop recommendations for potential customer issues.
- Perform all other duties as directed or modified.
Skills:
- Excellent sales and customer service skills, and a proven ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to apply engineering, technology or related principles to translate sales and marketing data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and I can communicate fluently in both Dutch and English. Knowledge of German and French would be an advantage.
- Taking corrective actions to improve the productivity of service engineers.
- Hunter/contractor mentality.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to perform under pressure with a sense of urgency and a hands-on approach.
- Attention to detail,
- Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably MFG Pro or SAP) is essential, as is the ability to liaise perfectly with the supply chain team.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Team player and am customer-oriented.
- Can meet commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritise and deliver results on time.
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics, or related field record of equivalent experience(s),
- At least five years of relevant experience required, preferably in Compressed Air or Compressor technology or related field,
- Knowledge of customization of skid packages, pumps, pressure vessels, filtering etc. that complies with internationally applicable design codes is a pre,
- Must have valid driver’s license,
- Speaks fluent English and Dutch, German and/or French is a plus
