We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our laboratory automation team. As a co-op in lab automation engineering, you will play a key role in advancing our automated laboratory systems within Sanofi's R&D CMC Synthetic organization. This position is located in Cambridge MA and will collaborate closely with colleagues to implement and optimize automated laboratory workflows.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain automated laboratory workflows using robotics platforms and integrated instruments. Configure and optimize automated systems to meet experimental requirements.
• Write, test, and debug scripts for laboratory automation systems using languages such as Python, LabVIEW, or other automation software. Develop interfaces between laboratory instruments and data management systems.
• Connect and integrate various analytical instruments with laboratory automation platforms. Ensure seamless data transfer between automated systems and Sanofi's data management infrastructure.
• Analyze existing manual laboratory processes and identify opportunities for automation. Collaborate with scientists to translate manual procedures into automated protocols.

About You

Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical & Biomedical), Computer Science, or related technical field with the expectation that you will complete your degree by the spring of 2027
• Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship
• Software programming experience with Python, C#, or other languages

• Basic understanding of laboratory equipment and analytical instruments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills to interact with scientists and engineers

The salary range for this position is $29-$45 hourly. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through LINK.
