As part of this position, the employee will be involved in the process of preparing offers and providing sales support to drive the company’s business success. Demonstrate competence in understanding customers' objectives and needs and apply our products, systems, technologies, services, and solutions accordingly.

The primary responsibilities will include developing technical solutions, preparing equipment and project budgets, and mainly focusing on creating technical proposals for clients. However, in this position, the employee will also participate in commercial discussions, support the sales team, and assist with project execution activities (manufacturing and installation) as needed.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Discuss and present technical solutions to internal and external clients;
  • Develop P&IDs, layouts, technical and commercial offers;
  • Create a list of necessary equipment to request quotes;
  • Request quotations from suppliers and other GEA entities to compose the project's overall solution;
  • Work on project pricing by carrying out calculations and filling in the cost formation template (advanced knowledge of Excel is desirable);
  • Create a preliminary execution schedule;
  • Carry out a preliminary technical assessment of sales leads and discuss them with the process/application engineering department;
  • Complete technical questionnaires (if applicable) to discuss leads with the group's Competence Centers;
  • Perform technical and commercial evaluations of received bids (RFPs, RFQs, tenders) with support from the application engineering team for technical issues;
  • Execute technical visits to the client (when necessary) to gather technical data for the offer preparation;
  • Participate in technical solution discussions with the GEA Competence Center and request relevant technical calculations, sizing, and information as applicable;
  • Coordinate technical team discussions to define P&IDs and layouts while always considering client demands (knowledge of CAD and VISIO is desirable);
  • Develop a preliminary sales schedule in alignment with the execution team (knowledge of MS Project is desirable);
  • Prepare a risk analysis and mitigation plan, also identifying opportunities;
  • Collaborate with the Sales department to prepare documentation for the Handover Meeting;
  • Prepare, review and update documentation and related materials after receiving the client's purchase order (purchase order, sales order, contract, proposals, CRM, among others). Actively participating in understanding and internal transfer of the client’s installation standards, philosophies, and other relevant information;
  • Analyze client feedback, identifying possible Change Orders, and working with the Project Manager;
  • Manage leads and opportunities (knowledge of CRM is desirable);

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Food, Chemical, Production Engineering or correlated areas.
  • Proven experience in Food or Chemical Industries and/or equipment and projects companies for this segment.
  • Evaporators, Dryers and/or Powder handling technology is a differential.
  • Desirable experience in selling industrial equipment and preparing budgets.
  • Advanced English is required.
  • Spanish is a plus.
