ABOUT YOU:

You will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving the quality of our products at Santa Cruz Bicycles. As a Quality Engineer, you’ll partner with Quality, Engineering, and key suppliers to develop and execute robust quality plans, driving first-time-right, low reject rates, and continuous improvement. WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE?

  • Lead APQP-style quality planning - including FMEA, process-flow diagrams, Control Plans, and FAI - in close collaboration with Engineering and manufacturers
  • Review and improve CAD GD&T; vet supplier drawings to ensure they match Santa Cruz Bicycles (SCB) specifications
  • Develop and implement raw materials Quality Control (QC) tooling and inspection plans in collaboration with the SCB QC team
  • Perform root cause analysis for quality findings and implement corrective actions
  • Review inspection reports, analyze data for trends and top issues, and develop data-driven improvement plans
  • Partner with SCB Taiwan on supplier quality; accompany the Taiwan team during critical supplier visits in Asia
  • Author and improve SCB quality standards
  • Create PC-DMIS (CMM) inspection routines

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality engineering or a related role
  • Extensive experience with various manufacturing and finishing techniques, such as machining, welding, and carbon fiber composites
  • High mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with bicycle mechanics
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions
  • Proficiency in major CAD software for both 2D and 3D design and documentation (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks)
  • Strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to travel 10% to meet and collaborate with vendors in Asia
  • Comfortable working within diverse teams and adhering to tight deadlines
  • Adaptability to unfamiliar situations, cultures, and environments
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Design engineering experience is preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.

SALARY RANGE: This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, industry experience and the interview with a potential range of up to $100,000 - $115,000.
