Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Assistant – Casual for the School of Social Work. This position reports to the Associate Director, Center for Prevention Science.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Provides coordination and research support to an externally funded project which focus on substance use prevention research and evaluation.
  • Handles data management, data entry, literature reviews, and evaluation activities.

FLSA Nonexempt

Salary Details $19.00/hourly

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences such as Public Health, Social Work, Psychology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to complete assignments independently and exercise independent judgement when appropriate.
  • Ability to work productively in collaborative situations.
  • Capability to learn new programs and methods and comfortable with technology.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet/database applications and website development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Public Health or Social Work.
