Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Assistant – Casual for the School of Social Work. Under the supervision of Cory Morton, Assistant Research Professor, Center for Prevention Science, this position is part of an externally funded project supporting collaborative quality improvement efforts in NJ’s public child welfare system.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Handles data collection and management.
  • Conducts participant interviews.

FLSA Nonexempt

Salary Details $28 - $32

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences such as Social Work, Psychology or related field, two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience conducting qualitative interviews.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Ability to complete assignments independently and exercise independent judgment when appropriate.
  • Ability to work productively in collaborative situations.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets/database applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish/English.
