Acts as receptionist. Greets, smiles, and communicates effectively with all persons coming to the unit, answers inquiries, directs and assists all visitors, staff and physicians. Assists with the delivery of flowers, gifts, and mail for patients.
Promptly answers telephone, intercom, and/or paging systems using proper telephone etiquette. Communicates messages and forwards calls in a timely manner.
Maintains proficiency in all available computer system applications. Understands and applies "downtime" procedures in a timely manner.
Keeps medical records in proper order and thins records as needed following established procedures.
Maintains patient’s pending transfer or discharge status in computer. Clocks patients out of computer when discharged in a timely manner.
Requisitions supplies and equipment and assists in care and maintenance.
Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area for the health care providers.
Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
Orients and mentors new team members.
Successfully completes any other duties as may be assigned.
