Program Coordinator II

General Responsibilities:

  • Under minimal supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel and logistical support for a defined department program (s), often of a large and/or complex nature.
  • Carries out established program objectives and directives.
  • Follows established guidelines or protocols. Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments.
  • May participate in program planning and in setting program objectives.
  • May supervise support staff.
  • May act as a communication liaison and special events planner.
  • Interfaces with outside resources such as volunteers, alumni, patients, other professionals in a defined field or with continuing education students.
  • May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties.
  • May assist with grant and contract preparation and submission.
  • May handle data management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a community liaison with outside resources to educate, engage and update community (residents, businesses, churches, schools, etc.) regarding LHSA programs, initiatives, and activities to include in-person visits, calls, emails, and distribution of flyers, etc.
  2. Participate in LHSA events (wellness, nutrition, fitness, education, etc.) to include set-up and break-down.
  3. This person will engage with event participants and serve as a liaison between the community and LHSA.
  4. Participate in community events in partnership with other local organizations to promote LHSA and distribute LHSA material.
  5. Maintain ongoing communication, provide tracking and information with local and Birmingham teams.
  6. This person will have the responsibility of maintaining accurate reports of individuals contacted and supported by LHSA initiatives.

Hourly Range: $18.35 – 29.80

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, ability to travel in the community, ability to develop reports regarding activity (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.).

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required.
  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
