More about the role

We’re looking for a Development Engineer - Mechanical to help us meet our ambitious growth targets in our Smart Home lighting portfolio. You will be part of the new to be build Hue Connected Luminaire Research and Development team co-located at the luminaire production location site in Pila, Poland. You will work with top technology partners, learn new skills, and grow your career. Your work will make a huge - and high-tech - impact. You will develop new Philips Hue products, that will reach the homes of many consumers globally.

As a Development Engineer - Mechanical you’ll be responsible for developing/upgrading Philips Hue smart lighting luminaires till release in the market, designing, developing, testing and documenting of the thermos-mechanical part of the overall architecture.

You will work with an outside-in view in order to understand and fulfil customer and market requirements as well as competitive alternatives. You will work closely with the Eindhoven development team and the co-located operational team at the production facility to realize these products in an efficient way

What you’ll do

  • Define mechanical design based on functional and customer requirements in collaboration with the technical project leader and advanced quality engineer.
  • Apply design principles for performance, cost, manufacturability, thermal management, packaging, and compliance with standards. Release mechanical parts and tooling for production.
  • Manage documents (BOM, 2D/3D drawings), PLM data, and milestones. Maintain engineering guidelines and support team development.
  • Scout for new materials, components, and technologies for high quality, low cost, and innovation.
  • Support lifecycle management and quality engineers to resolve issues.

More about You:

  • You possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.
  • You have a high level of knowledge regarding technology and application trends within the mechanical engineering domain and industry.
  • You are proficient in both English and Polish.
  • Experience in LED lighting or IoT product development would be advantageous.
