Internship Bio-polymer Process Optimization and Recycling - Full Time - Oberwinterthur, Switzerland

Join our dynamic Bio-polymers and Bio-monomers R&D team within the Chemtech division in Switzerland. As an R&D Engineering Intern, you will play a key role in advancing our bio-based and renewable applications, contributing to innovative research and development efforts.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in experiments ranging from lab to pilot scale, supporting R&D engineers in the bio-polymer process optimization and recycling.
  • Conduct detailed investigations into the synthesis and processing of bio-based materials.
  • Conduct detailed investigations into the synthesis and processing of bio-based recycled materials.
  • Be responsible of qualitative and quantitative analysis and data elaboration of raw materials and products.
  • Present results at group meetings and summarize your work in form of reports.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Current student or recent graduate (Master’s or PhD) in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering, with a strong foundation in polymer chemistry.
  • Laboratory experience in conducting organic chemistry synthesis and polyester depolymerization.
  • Experience on reactive extrusion and devolatilization units.
  • Know-how in characterization analysis like GC, HPLC and GPC.
  • {Essential requirement 5} Fluency in English - other languages a plus.
  • Skilled in MS Office 365 (especially Excel).

No visa or work permit support can be provided for this role.

The internship is intended to begin from 1st July/August 2025 and last for six (6) or nine (9) consecutive months. Starting time can be negotiated based on curriculum needs and individual situations.
