About the team and position

Carvana is seeking a highly motivated and experienced manager for our Verification Operation Support and Strategy team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in translating our ambitious strategic vision into actionable plans and ensuring their successful execution across the organization.

What you'll be doing:

  • Strategic Planning & Problem-Solving: Translate high-level strategic goals into actionable project plans while navigating ambiguity to resolve complex problems, ensuring alignment with the organization's overarching direction.
  • Proactive Strategic Thinking: Demonstrate a proactive and forward-thinking mindset, consistently identifying opportunities to enhance existing processes, achieve peak optimization, and introduce fresh, innovative approaches.
  • Recommendation Development: Develop and evaluate various options, assessing their potential impact on the business, and presenting data-backed recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment to drive projects to successful completion
  • AI-Driven Value Creation: Champion the use of AI to enhance efficiency, address critical business challenges, and drive strategic innovation, while staying current on emerging technologies and their business impact.
  • Data Analysis for Strategy: Analyze datasets to uncover key trends, extract actionable insights, and directly inform strategic decisions.
  • Data Visualization & Communication: Utilize data visualization and compelling storytelling techniques to effectively communicate analytical findings and strategic narratives to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Performance Monitoring & Alignment: Proactively monitor project and initiative performance against department objectives, identify deviations, and implement timely corrective actions to ensure alignment and desired outcomes.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrate comfort with ambiguity and readily adapt approaches in response to evolving market conditions, business needs, and emerging opportunities.

What you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related quantitative field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic planning, project management, or a similar leadership role, with a proven track record of successful initiative delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional project teams in a complex organizational environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Understanding of AI principles, methods, and their practical applications in a business context. Experience with AI-driven projects or initiatives is a significant plus.
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Python, R, advanced Excel).
  • Data visualization and communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Provide occasional weekend, morning, and evening operational support coverage as needed to ensure continuous business function.

Other requirements

  • To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • This job position is designated as a safety-sensitive position
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet
  • Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance
  • Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity
  • Requires use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment
