It starts with YES!

At Optus, we have an ambitious goal to be Australia’s most loved everyday brand.

The National OBC Sales Lead plays a pivotal role in accelerating customer acquisition across Australia’s mid-market landscape. Reporting to the Director of Business Centres Transformation, you will lead a high-performing team of State Business Development Leads and enable national channel partner success through scalable, data-driven, and solution-led sales execution.

This role is your opportunity to own a high-impact national growth agenda—aligning channel efforts with strategic enterprise goals, developing BDM capability, and shaping national sales strategy across mobile, fixed, and ICT portfolios. You’ll work cross-functionally with product, marketing, CVM, and partner teams to ensure performance, pipeline health, and solution positioning all hit the mark.

Success in this role will be defined by your ability to influence through leadership, coach distributed teams, uplift channel capability, and embed disciplined, insight-driven selling. Your commercial acumen, strategic mindset, and passion for customer value will be critical to driving mid-market momentum nationally.

Your day in the life at Optus

  • Leading and developing a geographically distributed team of State BDMs and enabling their partner-led acquisition efforts across all Australian states.
  • Creating and refining national sales strategies that fuel pipeline growth, drive acquisition and deliver sustainable revenue outcomes.
  • Collaborating across Optus product, marketing, CVM and channel teams to position and deliver ICT and telco solutions that address mid-market customer needs.
  • Coaching BDMs on solution selling, pipeline discipline, forecast accuracy and partner collaboration for maximum sales conversion.
  • Leading national performance reviews, campaign execution and partner enablement initiatives to ensure alignment, efficiency and growth.
  • Overseeing national CRM governance and pipeline reporting to drive forecast accuracy, territory planning and strategic prioritisation.

Your skills to pay the bills

  • 10–12+ years’ experience in B2B sales, with a proven track record in national leadership roles and managing channel sales execution across Australia.
  • Deep understanding of the mid-market segment and ability to translate customer needs into actionable, value-based ICT solution strategies.
  • Strong commercial acumen with expertise in pipeline management, sales forecasting, partner enablement and performance leadership.
  • Extensive experience in indirect/channel sales environments, with the ability to lead partner co-sell motions and uplift partner capability.
  • Ability to engage and influence internal and external C-level stakeholders and collaborate across matrixed business environments.
  • Confident using Salesforce, uCRM, Sales Navigator and sales enablement platforms, with strong planning, reporting, and digital execution skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, ICT, Marketing or related field (MBA preferred).
