About the Role

As a Property Accountant at Z-Modular, you will play a key role in supporting financial operations for our growing portfolio of residential multifamily communities. This detail-oriented and analytical role focuses on ensuring financial accuracy, operational compliance, and insightful reporting. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in property management accounting, especially using Yardi, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with finance leadership, on-site property teams, and external auditors to support month-end close, manage AP/AR processes, and maintain compliance with GAAP and internal policies. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Ghandler, AZ.

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepares and analyzes financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies
• Assists in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Provides financial insights and reports to support leadership decision-making

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Oversees invoicing, payments, and collections to support strong cash flow management
• Reconciles customer accounts and vendor statements, resolving discrepancies promptly
• Collaborates with property managers to improve billing accuracy and operational efficiency

Cost Accounting & Inventory Management

• Monitors cost of goods sold (COGS), production expenses, and raw material pricing
• Tracks inventory activity, cost variances, and allocations to improve financial accuracy
• Supports updates to standard costs and variance analysis

Tax & Compliance

• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales and property taxes
• Supports internal and external audits by preparing financial data and documentation
• Maintains adherence to accounting policies and internal controls

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assists in developing annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Analyzes budget-to-actuals and recommends cost-saving strategies
• Identifies trends and risks that may impact financial performance

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a property management or manufacturing environment
• Experience using Yardi (or similar property management software) across accounting modules
• Eligible to work in the United States

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, financial analysis)
• Understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
