Primary Purpose:

To support Molex manufacturing plants in addressing customer quality concerns, fostering strong customer relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective quality management and technical expertise.

The Engineer, Customer Quality, is responsible for managing quality concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet quality expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing quality-related activities effectively.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through prompt response and technical support.

Quality Issue Resolution:

  • Act as the primary point of contact with customers to understand their quality-related needs and execute strategies to address them.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Managing on-site customer complaints.
  • Coordinating validation processes or audits at manufacturing sites.
  • Collaborating with global manufacturing teams across departments to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Conducting failure analysis for customer complaints and providing proactive support.

Non-Conforming Product Management:

  • Oversee control and disposition of non-conforming products, including buy-and-resale parts.
  • Assess, negotiate, and engage external contractors for manpower for sorting and rework at customer or hub locations.
  • Supervise sorting/rework activities at customer or hub locations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing plants to optimize sorting processes and minimize costs, while preventing customer production line disruptions.

Corrective Actions and Reporting:

  • Prepare, review, and submit 8D reports to customers with corrective actions as required.

New Product Development:

  • Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for new products.

Quality System Development:

  • Develop and implement quality systems and procedures to effectively communicate and meet customer expectations and needs.

Defective Parts Management:

  • Coordinate with customers to facilitate the return of defective parts and ensure smooth processes.

Proactive Technical Support:

  • Respond to customer technical inquiries promptly and effectively to prevent dissatisfaction.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science & Technology, or equivalent.
  • Preferred:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Required:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing companies.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in industries with a strong focus on quality management.

Skills & Abilities Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of engineering and quality principles.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in FMEA, Global 8D, QC tools, SPC, and other QA/QC methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, RoHS compliance, and SAP systems.
  • Good communication skills in English and Mandarin.
