About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing mechanical components and assemblies, conducting engineering analyses, and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. This role requires strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design new parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and manage modifications through Teamcenter.
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure functionality, manufacturability, and compliance with standards.
  • Perform engineering analyses including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), design calculations, and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Identify and implement manufacturing improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Select appropriate materials for part design based on performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Apply Six Sigma tools for problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Utilize DFMEA to proactively identify and mitigate potential design issues.
  • Use decision matrices to evaluate and select optimal design solutions.
  • Apply Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) principles to optimize designs for cost and performance.
  • Complete and maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) documentation.
  • Create and update top-level assembly drawings and modify existing assemblies as needed.
  • Support design modifications under the guidance of a manager or senior engineer.
  • Use Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel to gather, analyze, and present technical information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and Teamcenter.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $68,600 - $97,600 annually.The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Franklin Park, IL and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
