Job Description
In your new role you will:
- Define, own, and drive the evolution of our overarching mixed-signal and digital verification strategy to be prepared for future verification challenges
- Lead the continuous development, refinement, and deployment of mixed-signal and digital-centric verification methodologies, tools, and flows within our IC development environment, incorporating industry best practices and innovative approaches
- Champion and guide the improvement of methodologies and advanced techniques for the generation, validation, and integration of high-quality, robust behavioral models (SystemVerilog real number models, Verilog-AMS, VHDL-AMS, etc.) for analog-centric, digital-centric mixed-signal verification, and hardware emulation platforms
- Actively research, prototype, and lead the integration of AI/ML-powered solutions into our verification workflows to improve efficiency, coverage, and bug detection capabilities
- Be the leader for technical alignments and foster strong collaboration with internal design and verification teams worldwide, as well as with EDA partners, on requirements for next-generation tools and methodologies
- Drive verification efficiency, effectiveness, and quality through standardization, promotion of reusability, strategic university collaborations, and fostering internal verification expert communities and knowledge sharing
- Act as a technical advisor across organizational boundaries, making technical decisions and setting the direction in your field of expertise
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning within the mixed-signal verification team and across organizational boundaries
Your Profile
As a Principal Engineer Mixed-Signal Verification Methodology, you manage your performance consistently and reliably. Furthermore, you push ideas to their full implementation and application. Lastly, you promote an awareness for continuous quality in your area of work.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics or similar
- At least 6 years of professional experience with very deep understanding in mixed-signal and digital verification of IC designs
- Expert-level proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools for mixed-signal and digital verification such as Cadence AMS-Designer/XCelium and Synopsys VCS/XA, as well as testbench concepts and tools (e.g., UVM-MS, Portable Stimuli)
- Comprehensive experience with advanced testbench methodologies and tools, including UVM (SystemVerilog), UVM-MS, and Portable Stimulus Standard (PSS)
- Profound knowledge HDL languages (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog), including the development of synthesizable RTL, complex behavioral models, and real number modeling (e.g., Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog-AMS, Wreal)
- A strong aptitude for and keen interest in AI/ML, with practical experience in evaluating and applying these techniques to common IC verification challenges (e.g., intelligent test generation, automated log file analysis for anomalies or coverage optimization)
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell) for automation, tool integration, data analysis, and the development of custom verification utilities
- An independent, collaborative and responsible working style within an international team
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (written and spoken). German language proficiency would be a plus
