The Position: This role manages key HR operations across compensation, benefits, and leave management. The Compensation & Benefits Analyst conducts salary benchmarking, job evaluations, and pay equity analyses to support competitive and equitable compensation practices. They oversee all aspects of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, renewals, vendor management, invoice processing, and addressing employee inquiries related to benefits. Manages all leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, parental, etc.) and workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation, and clear communication with employees and other stakeholders.

The Location: Hybrid combining working from home, and onsite in White River Junction VT roughly 2-3 days per week. Ideal candidates will be located within a 2-hour drive of our offices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct salary benchmarking, job evaluations and descriptions and pay equity analyses to ensure competitive and fair compensation structures. Assist in annual salary reviews, market adjustments, and incentive programs. Work with managers on general compensation related questions.
- Oversee benefits administration, including health and wellness programs. Act as a liaison between employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve benefits-related issues. Manage the renewal, enrollment, and administration of employee benefits programs, including group plans and voluntary benefits. Administer invoice process in conjunction with insurance vendors and finance.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of leave management, including FMLA, ADA, state-specific leaves, personal leaves, and company-sponsored programs. Ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local leave regulations.
- Administer and review worker’s compensation claims from the HR perspective, coordinating with internal safety team, business leaders, insurance providers, legal teams, and medical professionals.
- Conduct proactive, high-level reviews with business leaders, legal teams, and insurance carriers to ensure best practices. Facilitate sensitive conversations with employees regarding claims, leave options, accommodations and return-to-work process.
- Ensure all compensation, benefits, and workers’ compensation programs comply with labor laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, ACA, ERISA). Coordinate annual nondiscrimination testing, develop and update policies, procedures, and communication materials.
- Generate reports on compensation trends, benefits utilization, and other Ad hoc requests. Use HRIS and analytics to provide insights that drive strategic decision-making.
Experience and Education
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in compensation, benefits administration, leave management, and workers' compensation.
- Experience in working with relevant employment laws and compliance requirements (e.g., FLSA, ACA, ERISA, ADA, FMLA) required.
- Intermediate to advanced hands-on excel knowledge
- Prior experience working with HRIS and benefits administration platforms

This could involve resolving discrepancies, addressing employee concerns, or adapting benefits programs. Anticipates problems before they arise and implements strategies that minimize disruption and maximize satisfaction or efficacy.
- Technological Proficiency and Data Analysis: Strong excel knowledge and ability to perform complex tasks and advanced calculations. Expertise in using HRIS and other similar platforms and systems. Data analysis skills to evaluate the effectiveness of benefits and other programs, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
