We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Inventions and Innovation in Vehicle Body-in-white.

What awaits you?

• You collaborate with our PhD candidates on topics regarding shape and size optimization of stiffened structures in the context of hybrid manufacturing.
• Here, you gain experience in scientific work, prototype development, and presenting results.
• You develop your scientific skills, including literature research, idea development, analysis, and communication.
• Additionally, you implement state-of-the-art methodologies in shape and size optimization, FEA, WAAM, and hybrid manufacturing.
• Your results will be communicated internally and, if necessary, externally.

What should you bring along?

• University degree in mechanical, aerospace, or structural engineering, or a comparable field of study.
• Good knowledge in shape, structural, and topology optimization.
• Experience in CAE software (e.g., ANSA, OptiStruct).
• Programming experience (Python, MATLAB).
• Interest in additive manufacturing is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
