Duties/Responsibilities

Work with the Business Analytics team to identify data needs for various departments across Auxiliary Services. Create Qlik apps with data visualizations and reports based upon these needs.

Percentage of time 40

Duties/Responsibilities

Complete exploratory data analysis in source systems and databases in order to identify the best ETL process (Extract, Transform, Load) to get data into the proper form and place for analysis.

Use statistical analysis to identify trends and patterns in data in order to support accurate reporting mechanisms.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary

This position is part of a team designed to complete various short and long term projects related to data extraction, database management, ETL processes, analytical reporting, and statistical analysis. Auxiliary Business Analytics is responsible for curating data and creating cohesive, easily digestible reporting mechanisms to support operational units including Dining Services, Transportation and Parking, Auxiliary Marketing, the University Golf Course, the University Bookstore, and Vending Services.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

Currently enrolled at the University of Georgia with a major in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Completion of Intermediate Level Coursework- minimum competition or current enrollment in a course related to one of the following: Python Programming Skills for Business Analytics I, R Programming Skills for Business Analytics I, Data Science I, Statistics I, Database Management, or related topics.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one programming language including: SQL, R, Python, Java, etc.
  • Intermediate understanding of basic statistical principles, especially related to predictive analytics and basic summary statistics.
  • Availability during business working hours (8am-5pm) /not to exceed 20 hours per week
  • Availability to work summer months.
