Master Student Internship - QA engineer

You will be part of the Network Planning Tools team. The Network Planning Tool adds intelligence, automation, and efficiency to optical networking operations.

It provides a highly sophisticated, multi-functional software application that is designed to help service providers design, engineer, plan and optimize WDM/OTN/packet optical networks.

During your internship, you will be able to test the latest technologies and work on innovative projects that could leave a global impact.

You will be part of a team of highly motivated and talented test software engineers, delivering new software capabilities to the WaveSuite Planner product test suite.

You’ll work with leading-edge technology, using software test best practices, automation, and simulation, producing software releases for external customers.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

As part of our team, you will:

  • Evaluate an end-to-end system with GUI and custom-made APIs with back-end software that interacts with the optical networking equipment/tools.
  • Design and implement manual and/or automated tests to iteratively validate the functionality, scalability, and stability of WaveSuite Planner's proposed solution, using judgment to strategically balance quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Act as a customer advocate to identify, characterize, troubleshoot, and evaluate fixes for defects or enhancements to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You must have:

  • Exposure to networking concepts

You have:

  • A passion for testing with solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • A passion for delivering quality software
  • Experience with Python or another scripting/programming language
  • An ability to visualize business requirements in terms of workflows, use cases, and an overall user experience

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Exposure to tools such as Git, Jenkins
