The Evendale Defense Combat Propulsion organization provides technical oversight, design ownership and improved capability for the F110, J85 and TF34 product families across the entire engine life cycle. We are a dedicated engineering team committed to providing high quality design and customer support for these product families, including production and field support, component improvement, technology insertions, new platform installations and product cost strategies.

As a Systems Integration Engineer for a derivative military product, you will have the opportunity to interface with the customer while working with the legacy military turbomachinery design team and the Advanced Design Systems organization to upgrade and assess the design for a new product and mission.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Communication and Coordination:

• Serve as the main point of contact for the program systems teams and customers to maintain consistency between the turbomachinery team and the advanced design teams.
• Collaborate between both Systems teams, ensuring designers have the inputs needed to complete their analyses.
• Attend Program Tech Reviews, feeding appropriate information between the systems team and the turbomachinery design engineers.
• Collaborate with Legacy program Systems team and model leader to drive consistency across the common features of the product.

Tracking and Reporting:

• Track turbomachinery efforts, including design inputs, milestones and status updates to Systems and Customers.
• Act as Earned Value Management Cost Account Manager (EVM CAM) for the Turbomachinery by collecting status, tracking hardware spends, reporting to Systems and the customer.

Design and Testing:

• Drive design milestones for Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Detailed Design Reviews (DDR).
• Drive test assessments and support testing as appropriate for turbomachinery.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience related to turbomachinery design, testing, or systems engineering
• Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship

Desired Characteristics

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering
• Active US Government Security Clearance or ability and willingness to obtain active US Government Security Clearance
• Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• High level of computer proficiency
• Talented, highly motivated with good engineering judgment
• Effective in contributing in a structured, cross functional team work environment
• Experience in aviation propulsion system integration
