Position: Sales Manager - Battery Materials / Specialty Chemicals

Location: The Woodlands, TX

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Travel: 35–50% domestic and international

Overview:

System One is assisting a global battery materials and specialty chemical company in hiring a Sales Managers to support its North American growth strategy. This position is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in The Woodlands, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales efforts focused on advanced electrolyte materials within the lithium-ion battery, electric vehicle, and energy storage sectors
  • Manage and grow strategic customer relationships, including OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
  • Develop and execute market-specific sales strategies informed by industry knowledge and technical insight
  • Drive full-cycle sales, including prospecting, technical consultation, pricing, proposal development, and contract negotiation
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact and trusted advisor to enterprise-level customers
  • Maintain regular in-person engagement with clients through site visits, meetings, and presentations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams such as R&D, product management, and executive leadership
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, reporting, and market intelligence
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences
  • Act as the internal advocate for customer needs, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and business objectives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of sales experience in electrolytes or related chemical products
  • 3+ years managing key accounts in the battery, EV, or energy materials industry
  • Strong background working with enterprise-level customers and long-cycle sales processes
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a technical environment
  • Deep understanding of the battery materials or electrolyte market and industry trends
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus (Mandarin preferred secondary language)
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50%), including regular domestic trips and international events
  • Experience in green hydrogen, ammonia, or related specialty chemical markets is a plus
