Design, manufacture and improve semi-automatic and automatic mechanisms to meet different needs, including the implementation of new products, quality improvements, safety improvements and increased productivity through the implementation and development of new technologies in connector and cable manufacturing processes.

Our Team

  • Designs and oversees the manufacturing of automated machinery/equipment for the manufacturing of connectors and harnesses. Is responsible for implementing improvements and enhancements to existing production processes through the integration of new technology, creating a positive impact on safety, quality, production, and cost reduction.

What you will do

  • Supervision of mechanical and control engineers through daily communication, weekly meetings and training to achieve the objectives related to the group.
  • Design and manufacture of machines/equipment for the manufacture of terminals, cables and harnesses.
  • Identify potential automation projects, designing and managing all the machinery and equipment involved in the production process.
  • Development of improvement projects in PLC/SCADA and HMI.
  • Utilize technology to enhance, refine, and automate production processes, ensuring that utilized resources are more productive. Plan, implement, and oversee developed projects.
  • Plan and implement projects to reduce downtime due to waiting time in machine logic.
  • Establish parameter control methods that allow maintaining stability in processes to meet production and scrap indicators. Preparation of troubleshooting for control machine adjustments or configuration.
  • Simplify and automate existing processes through modeling and simulation.
  • Provide training on the implementations carried out to the personnel involved, through courses and training.
  • Configure and communicate databases, systems, networks, hardware.
  • Coordinate necessary machine and equipment repairs and adjustments (when applicable)
  • Participate in Process Design Reviews for Manufacturability, addressing all design-related concerns, reviewing Process FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), addressing all potential failures, and suggesting/implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure that the new product development process meets the PDP process requirements for each stage, drive corrective and preventive actions for all concerns related to the machinery and equipment manufacturing process through interaction with the various Molex engineering centers to obtain the information necessary for the development of the product/process.
  • Understand, support and contribute to current MBM Philosophy, Six Sigma, EICC, ISO, IAFT and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s in Engineering,
  • Control, Automation or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in cable assembly process
  • Advanced English
  • Extensive knowledge in Machine design and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge in DFMEA process.
  • Solid understanding in machines and tooling needs for connectors, cable and harness construction.
  • Knowledge of practices, terminology, and tolerances associated with cable fabrication.

What will put you ahead

  • Knowledg of Lean Manufacturing, TPM and SMED
  • Ability to design experiments and execute characterization studies.
  • Project management skills to set goals and priorities to complete projects systematically
  • Knowledge of early equipment design EEM (Early Equipment Management)
