Dassault Systèmes

We are looking for an Industry Process Consultant Intern (Low Frequency Electromagnetic Simulation with Finite Element – SIMULIA) to join our Low-Frequency Electromagnetics Simulation Team. Our team develops, tests and maintains leading Finite Element products, while helping our customers solve complex simulation challenges using our software. We work on cutting-edge applications combining electromagnetics, physics and engineering, for the design of electrical machines, superconducting and resistive magnets, electromagnetic material testing devices and charged particle X-ray tubes.

The position is based in our Warwick office, offering a 6-month duration with a 40-hour workweek. The team meets weekly in Oxford (City Centre) and monthly at the 3DS Warwick office, requiring the intern’s availability for these in-person meetings.

Role Description & Responsibilities

  • Help solve complex simulation problems showcasing SIMULIA Electromagnetic tools in real-world applications,
  • Develop innovative solutions for electromagnetic problems in electrical machines and other applications,
  • Enhance and test multiphysics simulation workflows (electromagnetics, structural, NVH),
  • Explore other electromagnetic applications like superconducting magnets and non-destructive testing,
  • Stay updated on scientific advancements in the assigned field,
  • Deliver high-quality solutions on time and document findings through clear reports.
  • Strong presentation and summarization skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Math or Physics (Ph.D. is a plus),
  • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic field theory and its engineering applications (e.g., electrical motors, generators) with an interest in other devices like accelerator magnets and transformers, etc.,
  • Experience with using Finite Element (FE) simulation software, ideally for electromagnetics
  • Programming experience (preferably Python or another object-oriented language)
  • Willingness to travel to offices in Oxford and Warwick
