The Technology Innovation Directorate at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is seeking a talented Electronics & Mechanical Engineering or related field student to contribute to development of state-of-the-art electronics systems used in a variety of scientific experiments and facilities.
As an intern student you will be part of the RF and Analog Systems department of the Instrumentation Division. This department is responsible for delivering the support instrumentation for many of the scientific programs at SLAC. In this role you will work side by side with our nation's leading scientific minds while also performing R&D on future approaches and technologies in the area of instrumentation. We pride ourselves in complex system design spanning concept, design, testing and operation and maintenance of high-speed data acquisition and electrical control systems for research instrumentation. Some of our current key projects from Instrumentation Division include the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) X-ray laser and high speed X-ray detectors, FACET high energy electron accelerator, Cosmic Microwave Background Stage 4 (CMB-S4) telescope array to be deployed in the Andes, CERN ATLAS detector, Light Dark Matter eXperiment (LDMX) and Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS), and development of flight hardware for future space telescopes.

Note: This is an hourly, non-benefits eligible temporary-nonexempt internship position (works at 50% full-time equivalent or more, not to exceed 980 hours in six consecutive months). The expected pay range for this position is $24.20 to $29.15 per hour. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
