If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Transactional Process Change Lead to join our team at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and we'd love to hear from you!
The Finance Transactional Process Change Lead will be a key member of the team working on the Department’s engagement with the Unity Programme. They will work closely with other members of the Process and Data team, staff operating current finance transactional processes, Unity teams and technical staff and undertake a wide range of duties to support the implementation and development of the Unity technology and processes and related systems. The role will include participating in collating business requirements, process design, resolving data issues such as data cleansing, testing and assisting the business teams through the go live of the Unity Programme including assisting in the development and delivery of training materials and helping the teams adopt the changes.
Job description
As the Finance Transactional Process Change Lead your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and optimization of finance transactional processes.
This will include:
o Working with existing teams to understand and where appropriate challenge existing processes
o Capture of business requirements
o Attending workshops to represent the department in discussions with other Unity Partners
o Assisting with system and process testing activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement solutions to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
- Evaluating data quality and working with the data lead to optimise data quality, undertake data cleansing and look for process and training improvement to deliver good quality data
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including process maps, standard operating procedures, policies and guidelines.
- Provide training and support to finance team members on new processes and systems.
- Monitor and analyse process performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness of finance transactional processes.
Travel to other MHCLG locations may be required.
Person specification
The Successful candidate will:
- Hold an accounting qualification, e.g. full or part CCAB or CIMA Global qualification or AAT qualification, or can demonstrate relevant experience in a finance setting.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of a breadth of finance transactional processes, and associated accounting requirements, with prior experience of implementing improvements in this area
- Demonstrate a capacity to think in strategic terms and evaluate business processes to ensure they meet the strategic vision of the business.
- Demonstrate the ability to work at pace and under pressure, including managing conflicting deadlines.
- Have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and with cross-functional teams, with relationship-building skills.
- Show strong analytical, creative and pragmatic problem solving skills with the ability to identify and implement system and process improvements in response to business needs
- Have the ability to produce high quality deliverables including develop and deliver training modules and presentations to large groups.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and explain complex issues to a range of audiences with varying levels of understanding.
- Possess strong negotiation and influencing skills, , the ability to influence others outside the direct sphere of control
