What You’ll Do

Your application for the Self-Driving – Electrical/Computer Engineering Internship will be considered across all opportunities for the teams listed below:

  • The Autopilot Hardware team is responsible for designing the Controllers that deliver the autonomous driving capability of Tesla vehicles. This team designs complex, high-speed boards that deliver computing performance while meeting efficiency, cost, reliability and safety goals
  • The Display team works on LCD/OLED display electronic system both at the component and system level. This team manages all activities necessary to deliver displays project into vehicles from initial concept to production
  • The Low Voltage Architecture and Circuitry team designs the “nervous system” for Tesla products including all vehicles, Robot, Dojo and future projects. We are involved from beginning to end of the design cycle. This includes energy management, functional safety analysis, defining communication layouts and power flow, harness partitioning and cost studies, trace and wire sizing considering EMI compliance, all the way to validation, de-bugging, and production ramp
  • The Low Voltage Hardware team designs the electrical “nervous system” of Tesla products. Our circuit boards control hundreds of devices (motors, sensors, LEDs, etc) across all electrical systems (seats, doors, HVAC, powertrain, safety, chassis, lighting, etc) in Tesla vehicles & robots
  • The Electronic Systems Design and Integration team design and validate low voltage electronics systems of new vehicle programs. This team is responsible for ensuring product functions are successfully achieved by the integrated subsystems as they interact in the context of the whole vehicle
  • The Low Voltage Electronics Automation & Test team designs, builds, and manufactures testers that are essential to the production of all of Tesla’s low voltage components. This team focuses on the software, data engineering, and IT infrastructure side of this team
  • The Low Voltage Test team specializing in ICT. ICT focus on developing test software for all Tesla-designed circuit boards for Tesla vehicles
  • The Electronic Systems Infotainment team design, simulate, implement, and debug systems and circuits used in Tesla vehicles and related HWs. This team experiments with and develop novel solutions to the myriad of complex electrical problems in Infotainment systems
  • The Sensing team is responsible for the hardware that embodies the "senses" of Tesla vehicles. They architect the ADAS sensor product installed on all vehicles, Develop DSP/Algorithms, and ensure sensor performance is successfully achieved when integrated with other subsystems in the vehicle. Connectivity is an important part of all Tesla cars, further enhancing the driving experience by providing access to features that require wireless data usage. We apply first-principles for the design, integration, test, and production development

What You’ll Bring
