UniCredit offers the opportunity to carry out an internship in the Compliance function.

The compliance function is changing to address a barrage of emerging risks. Its new ways of working, enhanced skill sets and use of advanced technology are delivering strategic insights, resulting in a shift of the function from business support to business enabler.

The nature of compliance in financial institutions is evolving, in response to the changing nature of the business and regulatory expectations. This presents both opportunities and challenges as the compliance function seeks to adjust and enhance its role.

Against a backdrop of significant conduct issues and major regulatory change, such as MiFID II, Market Abuse Regulation and Anti-Money Laundering Directives, as well as a growing number of codes of conduct, expectations for compliance functions have never been higher.

The availability of more complex data may allow compliance to adopt different ways of managing risks anticipating or predicting risk events more proactively.

All the above remains combined with regulatory projects, regulatory awareness, internal and external reporting, policies, procedures, and controls.

What you'll be doing

The candidate will:

  • Assist the team in the production of internal reporting (data collection, consolidation, data quality checks, etc.)
  • Provide general support second level control activities to monitor reputational and money laundering risk, financial sanctions
  • Provide general support the reputational and AML monitoring activities
  • Contribute to the design and deployment of Regulatory projects

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will hold the following skills:

  • University student attending a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree - at least enrolled in the 2nd year of Bachelor, in one of the following fields: Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Math & Physics Engineering and Legal.
  • Solid academic track record
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Learning agility and analytical mindset (familiar with Data Analytics is an advantage)
  • Proven knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Solid administrative and organizational skills
  • “Can do” attitude and collaborative team orientation.
  • Fluency in English
