Role Purpose:

The role is tasked with creating, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive quality assurance strategy to ensure world-class standards are maintained across all products, services, and processes. This leader will oversee regional quality teams, establish robust quality management systems, drive operational excellence, and ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and corporate goals.

The role requires significant cross-functional leadership, deep technical knowledge, and an ability to navigate cultural and regulatory differences across regions.

Quality Assurance Strategy and Execution

  • Define and execute a strategic vision for quality management, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term operational goals.
  • Own and advocate for the Quality Management System (QMS) as a competitive advantage, driving a culture of quality throughout the organization.
  • Implement QA policies, processes, and procedures to ensure the highest quality standards across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international quality standards and regulations in all testing and quality assurance activities.
  • Lead end-of-line testing to ensure final products meet required specifications before release.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Issue Resolution and Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the management and resolution of non-conformance issues, product recalls, and other critical quality challenges.
  • Drive the execution and management of RMA processes, leading remediation efforts and implementing process improvements across existing manufacturing lines.
  • Ensure accurate identification, documentation, and prioritization of product defects, collaborating with development teams to drive timely resolution.
  • Analyze customer complaints, returns, and RMAs to identify root causes and implement systemic changes to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs, utilizing problem-solving methodologies such as 5W’s, 8D’s, Kepner-Tregoe, A3 or similar approaches to root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Data-Driven Insights and Performance Monitoring

  • Ensure the accuracy of data collection processes to provide reliable, data-driven insights for assessing quality performance and informing strategic decisions.
  • Define, monitor, and report critical quality metrics and KPIs, such as defect rates, customer complaint resolution times, audit findings, and supplier quality performance.
  • Use data insights to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with product development teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain teams in addressing production challenges and implementing robust quality controls.
  • Act as the primary quality liaison with customers, responding to inquiries, audits, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work with marketing and sales teams to communicate the company’s commitment to quality, including certifications, test results, and case studies.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Build and manage a high-performing global QA team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Hire, train, and supervise QA staff, ensuring alignment with the organization's quality vision.
  • Motivate and guide team members to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities for QA team members.
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and clear expectations for all quality-related functions.

Operational Excellence and Process Optimization

  • Maintain compliance with national and international quality standards and regulations, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, IATF 16949, or similar frameworks.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to identify and resolve inefficiencies in QA workflows.
  • Work cross-functionally to enhance the manufacturability and scalability of new and existing products.
  • Champion a culture of operational excellence by continuously improving quality assurance workflows and processes.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience, Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Strong leadership, technical and project management skills
  • Strong technical understanding of complex systems. 
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a QA Manager role
  • Python Automation with system testing background
  • 5+ years Strong experience in HW/Systems QA testing, test plan creation for cutting edge technologies
  • Strong experience in Debug and failure analysis in systems & functional areas (HW/SW)
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex quality issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders
