JOB DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is seeking a dedicated Structural Intern to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with our accomplished Structural Engineers on innovative vertical (buildings) structural projects. As a Structural Intern, you will contribute significantly to our team, assisting with engineering analysis, design drawings, and details, while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals. You will also review construction shop drawings and participate in construction administration tasks, gaining valuable experience in an encouraging and collaborative environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years completed schooling towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering at an ABET accredited College or University. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Must have a basic understanding of the design of structural steel, concrete, and masonry structural components.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Proficiency in the latest versions of MS Office.
  • In Office, or Optional Hybrid – 3 days in office minimum.

Preferences:

  • Candidates focusing on Architecture or Structures.
  • Experience with Enercalc, RAM, ETABS, RISA, and STAAD.
  • Basic knowledge of Revit is a plus.

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position is $18.00 to $25.00 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
