PRN Pharmacy Technician

Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Pharmacy provides care for the diverse needs of more than 400,000 patients accessing Cleveland Clinic’s ambulatory pharmacies each year. Medina Hospital’s Ambulatory Pharmacy has a compassionate, detail-oriented and efficient team of caregivers who work collaboratively to identify areas of improvement, promote innovation and focus on accountability. This PRN position offers you a flexible schedule and opportunities to apply for part-time and full-time positions and join the Pharmacy Technician Apprentice Program. 

A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening Rotation, from 8:30am—5:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will: 

  • Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems. 
  • Fill medication carts daily. 
  • Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy. 
  • Repackage bulk medications. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • A high school diploma or GED. 
  • Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. You must be eligible for registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy and register within 6 months of hire. 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program. 
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). CPhT through the PTCB is required within 18 months of hire. 
  • Six months of hospital experience.
