Zachry Engineering Corp (ZEC) is currently looking for a talented and self-motivated Principal Designer Electrical with fossil power plant design experience to join our Electrical Department in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a great opportunity to get involved on challenging and interesting design projects within the Power industry.

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, use of arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. May be required to lift, carry and move objects safely.
Work Environment
Work will be in a general office environment operating and functioning in a fast-paced work environment. Occasionally required to work in an industrial location where noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise levels vary and may include bells, whistles, and alarms.

Involved in application of general design practices. Will select and recommend procedures in design and prepare/oversee designs for Engineer’s approval. Performs non routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and coordinating to complete a project of large scope or a smaller diverse project. Selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, and coordinates the work. Reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical requirements and design approaches. Review work for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements. Position skills are heavily focused on electrical design but have a working technical knowledge of other discipline design requirements. May be designated as the technical services design lead to coordinate work or designated checker on assigned project. Capable of leading and coordinating others within their discipline to successfully complete project assignments. Provide field support including field verifications for retrofit applications, as-built documentation, on-site procurement and installation supervision.
