Job Description:

The Supply Chain Intern supports the department team of colleagues to ensure the operations of the supply chain are carried out accurately and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Utilize knowledge and tools to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Support the Supply Chain team with priorities and workload.
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate fields in the ERP system such as lead time, lot sizes, and manufacturer information.
  • Assist with obtaining prints and patterns, if needed.
  • Support preparing purchase orders.
  • Aid maintaining and monitoring master file and plant-specific files for Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDA), Certificates of Insurance (COI), and other contractual purchasing documents.
  • Support reviewing changes in supplier delivery performance, material and source availability and supplier base activity.
  • Assist Supply Chain Team Members and Buyers in searching for new, improved and/or less costly purchase materials and services.
  • Participate and contribute to the continued Supply Chain process improvement goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrolled in an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Previous internship experience is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Some knowledge in Infor XA and/or experience in ERP systems is preferred.
  • Analytical skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
  • Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards.
