General Summary of Position

The Floor Technician at MedStar Washington Hospital is responsible for using specialized, power equipment for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, patient rooms, classrooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as cafeterias. Additional responsibilities include:

• Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use.
• Secures the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work.
• Performs wall cleaning.
• Performs restroom cleaning
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of three years directly-related job experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.

1 year experience required or successful completion of the DES Floor Tech Training Program

This position has a hiring range of $17.938 - $26.138
