General Summary of Position
The Floor Technician, using specialized, power equipment, is responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, patient rooms, classrooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as cafeterias.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use.
Secures the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work.
Performs floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.
Performs vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and extracting carpets, stairwells and upholstery.
Performs wall cleaning.
Performs dusting (high and low).
Performs routine restroom cleaning.
Performs routine office and/or classroom cleaning.
Maintains floor care equipment.
Performs terminal cleaning with use of UV machine in ORs, patient rooms and public areas. Must be able to use pre-programmed electronic tablet for initiating timed UV cleaning cycles and data collection purposes.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervision
