We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Low Voltage Engineer to join our Electrification & Automation team. Based in our North Ryde (NSW) offices, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within an area of the Siemens business that has enormous market potential.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Detailed knowledge of MV and / or LV switchgear design, construction & testing standards & principles.
- Review/coordinate/verify switchboard configurations from suppliers, sales, and contractors.
- Good working knowledge of Primary & Secondary distribution substation design principles & standards
- Good working knowledge of AS3000 application and AS/IEC standards
- Experience and awareness of mechanical / structural engineering aspects of design and assembly of transformer kiosks, DC systems, outdoor housings and / or eHouse structures including:
- Awareness of relevant mechanical / structural standards, BCA / National Construction Code
- Maximum demand calculations, cable sizing & cable schedules
- Familiarity with heat load calculations, cooling load and HVAC sizing
- Fire ratings / material selections / fire stopping methodology
- Mechanical structure sizing, mechanical deflection limits
- Arc-flash overpressure management
To be considered for this opportunity you will need the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (eligible for membership of Engineers Australia as MIEAust). CPEng and RPEQ will be highly regarded.
- Experience in MV and LV substation engineering design and testing
- Experience with Siemens intelligent switchboards like SIVACON and knowledge of Data Center design will be an advantage
- Willingness to travel for work and work at remote client sites as required
- Being self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative with strong communication skills
