General Summary: Develop and maintain a Skills Lab to meet the general and individual needs of students related to developing skill competence.
Requirements: Certified Medical Assistant
Proficient technical skills
Able to operate basic equipment
Flexible time schedule Monday through Friday, some evening /Saturdays Communicate effectively with student and staff
Duties:
1.Meet with faculty to identify and clarify skills to be practiced and set up schedule for the semester. Be competent in skills required by students.
2. Plan, coordinate and supervise skill demonstration, and student practice of skills.
3. Provide availability of individual instruction for disadvantages for students as needed.
4. Discuss with faculty individual student learning needs. Contact faculty members every two weeks with students' progress.
5. Maintain a record of attendance in skill lab.
6. Maintain inventory and security of equipment and supplies.
7. Develop instructional strategies appropriate for skill development.
8. Be available for MDA students according to student's schedule as designed by the skills lab instructors and approved by the MDA program coordinator and faculty.
9. Contact faculty members when skill deadlines end to convey completion of skills by students.
10. Perform other related faculty functions.
