The Senior Accounting Solutions Analyst will work on Group wide solutions for both Property & Casualty and Life & Health businesses, supporting Finance teams worldwide for Group and local scope/accounting gaaps. The scope mainly covers technical ledgers (reinsurance) and general ledger with strong dependencies with IFRS17 calculation solutions and financial consolidation tools.

The analyst contributes on the full financial production chain related to closing process which includes large projects, BAU/maintenance activities, around accounting tools resolutely SAP oriented.

In this context, the analyst will have a key role on defining and building solutions on a Finance perimeter which was highly impacted by IFRS17 by: 

  • providing a high-level of expertise on solutions for accounting activities;
  • and her/his technical know-how on market solutions and best-practices.

As the primary point of contact for business on their target evolutions, she/he will be their main support to address any regulatory or business requirements definition while keeping a critical eye on the functional consistency (IFRS17 stabilization and accounting chain optimization). She/he will ensure the proper implementation of all accounting evolutions in our systems, coordinating all stakeholders (Business, IT, external providers) with a quality delivery orientated mindset, respecting budget, milestones, and planning.

Additionally, the analyst will be the key contact for answering all operational questions, offering technical support on accounting solutions, particularly during critical closing periods. 

Under the supervision of Head of Finance Solutions, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to all projects related to implementation and enhancements of accounting solutions defining scope, plannings and coordinating all stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Coordinating solutions’ agile implementation through tracking and reporting of project progress, supporting IT & Business teams.
  • Conducting in-depth research and thinking critically about how to solve business pain points, with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Answering BAU-related questions from end-users and providing useful technical support on accounting solutions, especially during closing periods
  • Ensuring global accounting consistency all along the closing chain and notably between L&H and P&C chains.
  • Supporting the implementation of decision-making processes and documentation for maintenance and auditability purposes (e.g., training materials, functional design, user guides, process reviews, closing calendars).
  • Managing business testing through testing strategy definition, coordination and ensuring its proper execution (sometimes ahead of business testers).
  • Performing regular quality control testing (Non-Regression Tests) to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the existing systems.
  • Keeping a good knowledge of best-in-class market solutions and functionalities and their transcription in the SCOR environment.

Required experience & competencies

  • Experience as financial system analyst, auditor or finance ERP consultant for a (re)insurance company.
  • Strong experience with core SAP S/4 Hana and FI modules
  • Experience contributing to large Finance transformation projects, ideally for (re)insurers (e.g., design, coordination, implementation, testing).
  • Extensive experience working on closing processes and generating meaningful insights.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in an agile mode (incl. contributing to sprint planning, using Gantt charts, managing a backlog) would be appreciated.
  • Business production experience in a (re)insurance company would be appreciated.
  • Market knowledge of existing actuarial solutions (reserving, estimates) would be a differentiator.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all stakeholders and team members, regardless of seniority and department.

Required Education 

  • Master's degree (Bac+5) from an engineering school, business school, or university.
  • Accounting certification (Chartered Accountant) would be a valuable asset.
  • Full proficiency in French and English is required.
