System Integration Application Engineer
What will you do?
- provide expertise in Digital System Integration for tendering, design, execution, and commissioning for Complex Technical International projects within Europe and South America Region.
- network internally with SIT global team, DPAC teams in Europe, telecom team and other regional execution platforms to work together and be a single point of contact for our clients
- provide technical complex and strategic design, knowledge and know how for datacenter, utilities, MM and oil and gas projects in Europe and South America
- design, modify and commission Edge Control (Panel servers, PME, PSO, EPAS)
- you will need to have confirmed experience with main Communication Protocols and IP/Ethernet Networks
Place of work:
- Slovakia our offices in Bratislava, Žilina and Košice or your home country within EU. Possibility to work remotely
- Candidates are welcome from: Europe (EU passport holders), preferrably: Slovakia, Romania, Croatia
- Extensive international travel (70%) for Commissioning activities, FATs, Internal Validations. Short notice mobilization request in some cases
Key activities and responsibilities:
- Design of Control System by himself of by leading a dedicated SE entity
- Participate on Project Execution System Design Review and Tendering Design Review for priority project and key clients
- Elaborate comprehensive System validation plans and can participate and test in factory or site
- Implement or check Communication IED descriptions (CID files) for communication with internal and external SCADA systems
- Defines IP and Ethernet network between connected devices
- Participates in Tender process to estimate and quote manhours needed
- Participates on Site commissioning on ED SWGR and EMCS interfacing
- Perform technical coordination between electrical team and DPAC Team during FAT and SAT test
You will need to build and maintain internal and external relationships:
- with Project Team to organize Tender / Execution / Design / commissioning tasks
- with Project Manager (PM), to manage schedules and customer interfaces
- with Design Leaders, Technical Leaders Electrical and Digital, to advise on correct implementation Digital System Design
- with other teams to be aware and informed about latest trends and practices in digital community
- with GCP SIT team, DPAC and EEC Teams to be aware and informed about latest trends and practices in digital community
- with customers and external vendors if clients use a competitor IED range
More detailed description of successful candidate's activities and responsibilities:
Technical Responsibilities:
- Assumes technical responsibility for robust design or for commissioning
- Ensures quality (content, timing, costs) of the work done
- Writes Technical reports to TL and Client
- Participates in design meetings if required, participates actively in the capitalization and sharing of experience
- Maintains technical theoretical and applied skills in the ED and Power Systems domain
- Contributes to technical innovation and productivity by sharing best practice
Skill Sets:
- Strong skills in IEC & IEEE standards applicable within the ED field, knowledge of the methodology & acceptance criteria defined therein
- Strong knowledge of Protection system operation, latest ranges of protection relays, preferably Micom, Sepam, Easergy & Vamp ranges
- Advanced level skills in communication protocols
- Expert EPAS/PACIS skills
- curity Application Platform
- Confirmed experience on other Edge control systems is an advantage (PSO, PME, Bay control units)
- Desirable: Experience with Cybersecurity Admin Expert Cybersecurity Application Platform
Commercial responsibilities:
- In coordination with the TL and PM, participates in meetings with customers to clarify their needs; identifies technical limits; obtains approvals
- Able to create quotation tools for calculations/studies
- Tracks costs and improves profitability of the calculations/studies, considering the cost of both engineering and site travelling if commissioning is engaged
Responsibilities in terms of Quality:
- Is responsible for the quality of his/her studies and for the associated documentation
- Implements the Quality policy and improves the level of customer satisfaction
- Respect and follow SE HSE Standards and rules
Responisbility in terms of Security / Safety:
- Continuously monitors the security of information processed, stored, sent out
- Acts with discretion, and does not communicate information to those who do not need it
Qualifications
What qualifications will make you sucessful?
Education and language
- University degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor as minimum, preferably Master) with a strong experience in the electrical distribution field and in the customer project business
- Mandatory fluent communication skills in English language (minimum B2 level), advantage another language spoken on a fluent level (French, German, Spanish, Russian...)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with EPAS/PACIS and/or Wonderware and/or PSO Software
- Minimum 3 years of commissioning experience
- Proved experience doing signal and loop testing interface test with EMCS(Monitoring and Control System) and switchgear
- Experience using other Edge control systems is required
- Willingness to travel minimum 75% in EMEAS Region
- Potential to work on a long time base abroad mission 6 to 12 months (optional requirement)
- EU passport is a mandatory condition for the role
- Driving licence B
