Team Introduction

IaaS-US team focuses on the development and research of ByteDance Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform. The IaaS division focuses on building large-scale and highly available cloud & AI infrastructure, which supports both Bytedance public cloud products and its corporate products such as Douyin.

Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of core features in critical infrastructure systems, including but not limited to AI Infra, cloud compute and networking, etc.
• Research on cutting-edge technologies and technology trends in cloud infrastructure areas, from both academia track and industry track.
• Experiment and build PoCs to verify some new technologies or innovative ideas.
• Improve performance, scalability and availability of our cloud & AI platforms, including compute stack and networking stack.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Phd degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Good understanding of cloud & AI infrastructure, including both compute and networking
• Proficiency in Linux-based development and at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Golang, C++)
• Good communication, self-motivation, good engineering practice and documentation

Preferred requirements

• Experience with designing and building large scale cloud infrastructure systems
• Experience with at least one of the following areas:
• LLM inference or training infrastructure, framework, engine, etc.
• Next-gen CPU, GPU, server platform or hardware acceleration related projects.
• Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) core components, such as virtualization, cloud networking, cluster scalability, reliability, etc.
• Network hardware offloading and P4 programmable network.
• Network protocol optimization, such as congestion control.
• Machine learning based intelligent networks.
• Having publications on top tier CS conferences is strongly preferred.
