About The Role 

As a Senior Accountant at goop, you'll be instrumental in managing the full-cycle accounting processes. This role requires a mix of advanced excel skills, analytical prowess, accounting knowledge, and organizational skills to support efficiency and accuracy companywide. You will support the Senior Accounting Manager, working closely with stakeholders across the company to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting operations.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. 
  • Month-end and Year-end Close: Take a leading role in executing the month-end and year-end closing processes, including AP and AR reconciliations, fixed assets and prepaid expenses, accruals, and T&E reconciliations. 
  • Internal Controls: Establish, Improve, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 
  • Audit Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors during annual audits, providing documentation and support as needed. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency, implementing improvements as appropriate. 
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in other departments, such as marketing, operations, retail, strategic partnerships, and product development, to support their financial needs and provide insights to drive business decisions. 
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, leveraging financial expertise to contribute to the company's strategic objectives. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 4-5 years of accounting/finance experience with 1-2 years as an experienced senior.; CPA and Big 4 experience are a plus. 
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and the full Budgeting & Accounting Cycles. 
  • Must be software savvy and able to reconcile data between multiple systems. 
  • Advanced Excel skills – i.e. VLOOKUP’s, pivots, sumifs, etc. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively. 
  • Flexible, strategic team player with high integrity and ethical standards, who is also able and willing to be extremely hands-on. 
  • Exposure or use of NetSuite preferred. 

FAQ  

  • Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 + Equity. This is a full time, exempt role. Please note that this range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for the XXX based position. Goop, in good faith, reasonably expects to pay the position within this salary range. Goop provides the salary range in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, training, knowledge and skills, and if the location of the job changes.
