The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting senior management in analyzing and monitoring the Company's performance. Supports the creation and communication of the annual budget, quarterly financial and operational forecasts, and various ad-hoc financial and operational analyses. Creates and distributes monthly management reports. Coordinates capital expenditure and headcount planning. Helps ensure that all work created and distributed by the finance department is timely and professional in appearance.

  • Responsible for the analysis of Company and Divisional financial performance with a particular emphasis on tracking and interpreting key performance metrics.
  • Responsible for developing various ad hoc financial/performance analysis.
  • Responsible for working with Department Heads to help them to better interpret and manage their operating and financial performance.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, the analysis of budget vs actual results, and updates to the quarterly forecasts
  • Coordinate capital expenditure planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Coordinate headcount planning, approval, and reporting process
  • Maintain an organized easily accessible electronic database of all financial and operational files.
  • Support development of financial presentations for management
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related discipline

Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work independently.
  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint knowledge.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management and operations.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, good time management and organization skills.

Other:

  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Capella Core Faculty (5 – 10%). 
  • Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
  • If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
