JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Tax Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all payroll tax projects and ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, has strong analytical skills, and possesses a deep understanding of payroll tax processes. As a Payroll Tax Project Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement processes to efficiently handle payroll tax functions. You will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, including tax planning, tax return preparation, and tax reporting. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll tax returns and W2s.

JOB DUTIES

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective payroll tax processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely payment of payroll taxes, returns and W2s
  • Conduct research on new payroll tax regulations and develop strategies to adapt to changes
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors to ensure accurate calculation and reporting of taxes
  • Analyze payroll tax data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll tax management or a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in payroll tax software and systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently

The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle, or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend, or lift up to 20 pounds.
