Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Quality Control & Quality Assurance Engineer to join us at our facility in Gebze, Turkey.

The purpose of this role has 2 missions:

  • Quality Assurance Engineer: To establish quality-related systems in accordance with IATF 9001 and IATF 16949 norms, customer and Axalta expectations and standards, to ensure that they are implemented in all areas and to support the studies to follow.
  • Quality Control Engineer: To take part in projects related to each new system that will carry out production, to control the faulty production process and to ensure the continuous improvement of production quality. He will be the contact person for the quality control phase of the products, and will be responsible for resolving customer complaints and production problems, focusing on the root causes.

Key responsibilities:

a) Quality Assurance Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Establish, develop, and monitor the quality assurance system to enhance customer satisfaction within IATF 9001, IATF 16949, customer, and Axalta quality standards.
  • Implement total quality management principles, collect data for long-term quality planning, and participate in organizational improvement efforts.
  • Spread awareness of quality within the company, participate in goal achievement studies, and develop targets.
  • Plan quality trainings to achieve desired performance levels and support documentation preparation for quality system establishment.
  • Manage and participate in internal quality audits, ensuring continuous improvement of company's quality systems.
  • Monitor and report nonconformities, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements for corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation systems, track customer portals, and manage supplier nonconformities.
  • Attend EMEA quality meetings, report to Lab Supervisor, and manage customer complaints via Salesforce.
  • Keep documentation system up-to-date and ensure compliance with Ford CSR specification.

b) Quality Control Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Ensure departmental compliance with EHS&S rules and standards while producing products.
  • Produce products according to standards, analyze problems in production process, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Manage color master panels, storage, labeling, and oversee quality control staff.
  • Follow up on nonconformities, plan necessary activities, and organize monthly statistical information.
  • Direct SVO productions, work on color adjustment, and conduct wet color measurements.
  • Notify relevant departments of color adjustment and control imported products' color.
  • Train subordinates, work on quality, environment, and PSM systems and issues, and have authority to stop production for quality issues.
  • Address new color demands, reduce customer complaints, and coordinate new product commissioning studies.
  • Create and revise quality instructions, follow test methods, and ensure adaptation of new methods.

Key requirements:

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Good command of English in oral and written communication.
  • Having knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / Powerpoint) and SAP.
  • Analytic, strong interpersonal skills.
  • No travel restrictions (locally/internationally)
  • Sensitive to colors, no eye problems (especially color blindness).
  • Preferably +2 years of experience in the field.
  • Willing to grow within organization as a potential Laboratory Leader.
  • Having worked in companies closely related to the automotive industry is preferred
