CFD-Engineer in the area of Engine Development

Scania

About the job

We are now looking for a CFD Engineer to join the Fluid and Combustion Simulation group within Engine Development at Scania. The group performs and is responsible for CFD calculations on the engine's gas exchange, combustion and cooling systems.

The group is characterized by motivated, knowledgeable and ambitious engineers who, through their work, support the organization by providing knowledge and understanding of fluid mechanical phenomena. We are now looking for an ambitious and motivated person with a background in CFD to complement our team; the group today consists of eight people where a majority hold a PhD within the field.

About the position

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of Scania's products and how they are effectively simulated in Scania's powerful computational environment. Your work will be conducted both within projects where we work towards a decided production date, but also within pre-development concept development projects. Regardless, a focus on delivery and a structured way of working is of great importance. The work is done through calculations according to existing, quality-assured, methods based on the requirements set in the product development cycle. You will plan and follow up your own calculations and present the results to internal and external customers orally and in written reports. Even if you handle the calculation work independently, an ongoing dialogue about the path to the results within both the projects and with others in the group is an important part of the work, which means that communication and drive are important qualities.

Your Profile

You have a master's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or engineering physics. You have experience with CFD calculations of internal combustion engines, heat transfer or gas exchange applications. Experience with Star-CCM+ is an advantage. We use both Windows and Linux for our calculations and expect you to be comfortable with both systems. We assume that you have experience with pre-processor tools such as ANSA. Experience with Catia V5 is an advantage.

We attach great importance to:

  • ability to communicate in the form of oral and written presentation in Swedish and English
  • ability to understand the needs of the projects and how to meet them
  • that you are ambitious and used to making your own decisions
  • understanding of deadlines and delivery-focused work
  • interest in working with Scania's products, both within projects and with method development

In addition to specific knowledge within CFD in the context of engines, a good general understanding of CFD is valued.

What we offer

As an employee at Scania, in addition to career and development opportunities, we offer other benefits such as wellness allowance, performance bonus, occupational pension, flexible working hours, lunch at a reduced price, the option of a company car and much more.
