Job Description

Position is Full Time - OR located at Oro Valley

Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed. Assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technologists, and have 0-1 years of experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

The Surgical Technologist assists in the care of the surgical patient applying principles of asepsis to perform scrub duties and related activities for surgical procedures, arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed and assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater.

Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Education: "Required: 

Completion of accredited Surgical Technician program

  • OR- 2 years of on-the-job training
  • OR- 7 years of experience working in the field
  • OR- Military training program with 2 years surgical tech experience"

Licenses/Certifications: "Required: BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) "
