Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform thorough review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards (US GAAP); the review and reconciliations must be prepared on a timely basis, with clear identification of reconciling items with related solutions to prevent recurrence where possible, and clearly identified plans to clear unresolved reconciling items
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to address issues and discrepancies
  • Help identify gaps in internal control environment, provide recommendations, and implement solutions to ensure continued robust internal controls
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes on various projects (including and for example ERP implementations)
  • Prepare Capital Expenditure templates (ensuring business case is fully supported) for submission to Head Office
  • Conduct detailed income statement reviews, including comprehensive variance analysis for various business divisions
  • Key member responsible for forecast and budget process, establish cost centre budgets and provide monthly review and commentary of material variances to budget; communicate results to Department heads
  • Actively participate in the preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related discipline
  • CPA

Specific Skill Ability and Knowledge:

  • 2 years of accounting experience
  • 1-2 years working for a multi-national corporation is a plus
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex financial data
  • Proven experience as an Accountant with a focus on balance sheet reconciliations, income statement analysis, and internal controls
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and its practical application in a corporate setting
  • Excellent communication skills to convey financial insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
